Opera Peregrine

Latin: Falco peregrinus
Norwegian: Vandrefalk (Wandering falcon)

The Peregrine Falcon is often stated to be the fastest animal on the planet in its hunting dive, the stoop, which involves soaring to a great height and then diving steeply at speeds commonly said to be over 322 km/h (200 mph). A study testing the flight physics of an 'ideal falcon' found a theoretical speed limit at 400 km/h (250 mph) for low altitude flight and 625 km/h (390 mph) for high altitude flight.

Apple Misled iPhone Users Over Internet Capability

Sri Lanka Dialog Telekom Offers Discounts

(LBO) – Sri Lank'a dominant mobile phone operator Dialog Telekom said it will offer discounts from August 1 to attract more customers.
A company statement said Dialog has launched a 'Lifetime Discount' programme bringing all its packages under a new tariff platform.

This entitles the entire Dialog customer base – 4.5 million post-paid and pre-paid customers – a range of discount offers, it said.

The discount programme gives customers a 50 percent discount on charges for all local outgoing calls from the third minute onwards.

A 25 percent discount is offered on the second minute.

Dialog, a unit of Telekom Malaysia, is under pressure from growing competition that has eroded its market share, and rising costs.

The company is one of the biggest listed on the Colombo stock exchange.

It maintained rapid growth in customers and profits in its early years.

But growth rates have slowed as competition grew and record domestic inflation began to bite its bottom line as well as consumer spending.
